A Halfmoon Metallic Marble Betta (Betta splendens) is a highly prized, dynamic aquarium fish known for its D-shaped tail and color-shifting scales.

Key Characteristics

Halfmoon Tail: The caudal (tail) fin spreads at a full 180-degree angle when flared, creating a perfect capital "D" shape.

Metallic Trait: The scales have a thick, shiny, iridescent layer that reflects light, giving them a polished or armored copper, teal, or silver appearance.

Marble Gene: This genetic trait means the fish will change colors over time. A patch of dark color can completely disappear, or new colors can spread across the body as the fish ages.

Tank Requirements

Size: Minimum 5 gallons (19 liters).

Filter: Low-flow sponge filter (heavy fins make swimming in strong currents difficult).

Temperature: 75°F to 80°F (24°C to 27°C) using a reliable aquarium heater.
