Ludwigia Rubin - 1 pot
Ludwigia repens 'Rubin' is one of the most striking and deepest-red stem plants available for freshwater aquariums. Native to North America, this variant is highly favored by aquascapers because it delivers intense ruby-red to burgundy coloration while remaining far easier to care for than other advanced red plants.
Plant Overview.
Growth Habit: Fast-growing stem plant that reaches 20–50 cm in height and 4–6 cm in width.
Placement: Best suited for the midground to background where it provides an excellent color contrast against green plants.
Visual Profile: Features large, lance-shaped leaves with distinct dark red stems and foliage.
Planting & Maintenance
Grouping: Plant individual stems together in large clusters with a little space between them to maximize the decorative effect.
Pruning: Trim the top shoots regularly. This forces the plant to branch out, preventing it from getting leggy and creating a dense, bushy appearance.
Propagation: Simply cut off the healthy top stems or side shoots and press them directly into the substrate. They will establish new roots very rapidly.
Acclimation Note: When bought new, it is often sold in its emersed (out-of-water) form. Do not panic if the old leaves melt away initially; vibrant new underwater leaves will sprout quickly once it adapts to your tank.
