Anubias barteri var. nana 'Narrow Leaf' is a highly compact, robust, and visually distinct variant of the classic dwarf spear leaf aquarium plant. this slow-growing epiphyte differs from standard Anubias nana by sporting significantly narrower, more elongated leaves and a tightly dense growth habit. It is highly favored in aquascaping because it maintains a miniature scale, is tough enough to withstand herbivorous fish and cichlids, and brings a unique fine-textured geometry to foreground and midground layouts.

Growth Rate: Very slow, meaning it requires minimal trimming.

Key Planting Rule
Like all Anubias species, the thick green stem called the rhizome must never be buried in the substrate. Covering the rhizome cuts off vital water flow and causes the plant to rot and die. Only the fine, white anchor roots should ever be tucked into gravel or soil.
Placement & Aquascaping Options
Hardscape Attachment: The ideal method is to secure the plant directly to aquarium driftwood, lava rocks, or 3D backgrounds. You can use sewing thread, fishing line, or cyanoacrylate-based aquarium gel superglue.
Tank Positioning: Because it rarely grows taller than 5–15 cm, it serves as an excellent structural filler for nano tanks or a high-detail accent in the foreground and midground zones of larger setups.
Propagation: Simply use sharp scissors to slice the rhizome into smaller sections. Ensure each separate piece has at least 2 to 3 healthy leaves attached to sustain independent growth.
