Golden Rosy Barb

The Golden Rosy Barb (often referring to female rosy barbs with their natural golden-silver sheen, or the closely related golden morphs/varieties) is a hardy, active freshwater schooling fish. Growing to about 2 to 4 inches, they thrive in groups of 5+, temperatures of 14°C to 26°C, and a neutral pH of 6.0–8.0.

Care and Requirements

Tank Size: Minimum 30 gallons to accommodate a school of active swimmers.

Temperament: Generally peaceful, though they can be boisterous or occasionally nip long-finned tank mates if kept alone.

Diet: Omnivorous; they readily accept high-quality flakes, pellets, frozen foods, and blanched vegetables.

Water Parameters: Adaptable and resilient, tolerating cooler unheated indoor setups well.
