Ocean Free Aqua Gro Soil (3L) is an all-natural substrate specially developed for planted aquariums and shrimp setups. It helps lower and stabilize water pH and carbonate hardness (kH), making it perfect for most tropical fish, shrimp, and demanding aquatic plants.

Step-by-Step Instructions & Setup Tips

Do Not Wash: Pour the dry soil directly into the empty aquarium tank. Pre-washing the soil is not necessary and can break down the granules.

Slope the Substrate: For a better visual aesthetic and deep root anchoring, make the layer thicker toward the back of the tank.

Fill Water Gently: Place a plastic plate, saucer, or bubble wrap on top of the soil. Slowly pour water over it to avoid stirring up the substrate and muddying the water.

Skim Debris: The soil is natural and might contain tiny floating wood or plant fragments. Simply scoop them out with a fish net.

Let it Clear: The tank water may look cloudy during initial setup. A high-quality filter will naturally clear the water within 24 hours.

Filter Warning: Avoid using an undergravel filter with this soil, as it disrupts plant roots and breaks down the substrate.
