Red Rili shrimp (Neocaridina davidi)

Red rili shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) are popular, peaceful freshwater dwarf shrimp known for their striking translucent body interspersed with solid red patches, usually concentrated around the head and tail. Growing up to 3 cm, they are hardy, easy to care for, and ideal for planted nano tanks of 5 gallons or larger.

Temperature: 15°C to 28°C (59°F–82°F)

pH Level: 6.5 to 8.5

Total Hardness (GH): 3 to 20 dGH

Tank Requirements: Minimum 20 liters (approx. 5 gallons), equipped with a gentle sponge filter, live plants (like Java moss), and hiding spots.

Diet & Feeding Behavior

Primary Food: Algae, biofilm, and decaying plant matter in a mature tank.

Supplementation: High-quality shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables (zucchini or spinach), and occasional protein sources.
