Prep the Vacuum: Submerge the rigid plastic tube completely into your tank water, tilting it upward to let all trapped air escape.

Start the Flow: Shake the tube up and down rapidly while submerged (if it has an auto-start valve) or use the manual siphon ball to initiate gravity flow into an external bucket.

Control with Your Thumb: Keep one hand on the flexible hose. Pinch the hose firmly to pause or slow down the water flow whenever needed.

Vacuum the Substrate: Push the rigid tube straight down about 1 centimeter into your gravel bed. Release your pinch on the hose so the suction pulls up the trapped fish waste and debris.
