Avatar Betta

The Male Avatar Betta is a highly sought-after, premium designer strain of Betta splendens known for its striking, cosmic coloration. This selective color pattern resembles a deep-space galaxy, featuring an intense opaque black or dark midnight blue body heavily flecked with iridescent metallic blue or green "stardust" scales.

Key Physical Characteristics

Color Pattern: A stark contrast between a solid dark base (black/dark blue) and brilliant metallic neon spots or patches.

Fin Varieties: Most commonly bred as a Plakat (HMPK), which means they have short, strong, and highly energetic fins. However, long-finned Halfmoon (HM) variations are also available.

The Marble Gene: Avatar Bettas carry the jumping "marble gene." This means their color patterns are not permanent and will often shift, expand, or completely change as the fish matures.

Tank Size: Minimum of 5 gallons, though a 10-gallon tank is ideal for easier parameter management.

Water Temperature: Strictly tropical; require a stable heater set between 24°C to 28°C (75°F to 82°F).

Filtration: Low-flow sponge filters are preferred. Heavy currents will stress them out and damage their fins.
