The Chili Rasbora (Boraras brigittae) is a vibrant, tiny freshwater nano fish reaching a maximum length of 0.6 to 0.8 inches (1.5 to 2 cm), highly prized in the aquarium hobby for its fiery red coloration.

Tank Requirements

Schooling: Keep them in groups of at least 8 to 10 (more is better) to reduce stress and display bold, natural schooling behavior.

Environment: They thrive in Densely Planted Aquariums featuring dark substrates, driftwood, and floating plants to mimic their native blackwater peat swamps.

Water Flow: Gentle filtration with low water movement is ideal.

Diet and Feeding

Mouth Size: They have extremely tiny mouths, requiring micro-sized foods.

Food Types: Feed crushed high-quality flakes, micro-pellets, or live/frozen baby brine shrimp, cyclops, and daphnia.

Compatibility

Tank Mates: Safe to house with dwarf shrimp (Caridina or Neocaridina), snails, and other tiny, peaceful fish like pygmy corydoras.

Avoid: Large or aggressive community fish that might outcompete them for food or view them as a snack.
