Platinum Ogon (Purachina Ogon) 6-7"

The Platinum Ogon (known in Japan as Purachina Ogon) is a highly prized variety of metallic, solid-white koi fish. Belonging to the Hikarimuji category (single-colored metallic fish), they are famous for a brilliant, reflective sheen that mimics liquid silver or fresh mountain snow. Because they lack the intricate red or black patterns of other koi, their overall visual impact relies entirely on the perfection of their metallic luster and body symmetry.

General Care & Requirements

Habitat Size: Large outdoor ponds of 1,000+ gallons are ideal for adults, though large indoor aquariums of 150–250 gallons can house individual adult fish.

Water Quality: Koi require exceptionally stable parameters with 0 ppm ammonia and nitrite. High water quality is critical because poor conditions will quickly cause the vibrant white coloration to yellow or streak with red stress veins.

Diet: They are omnivorous and thrive on high-quality koi pellets supplemented with treats like peas, lettuce, and shrimp.
