Aquarium soil (also called aqua soil) is a nutrient-rich, porous, baked-clay substrate designed for planted fish tanks.

Key Features of Aquarium Soil

Nutrient Rich: Contains organic acids and minerals that feed aquatic plant roots directly.

Water Buffering: Lowers pH and carbonate hardness (KH), creating soft water ideal for many tropical fish and shrimp.

High Porosity: Granules allow oxygen and water flow while giving beneficial bacteria space to colonize.

How to Use It

Do Not Rinse: Pour the dry soil straight into your empty tank to avoid breaking the granules.

Slope the Layer: Make it 5 to 8 cm thick, sloping higher toward the back for depth.

Cycle the Tank: Run the aquarium and perform water changes for 2 to 4 weeks before adding fish to clear initial ammonia spikes.
