These versatile plants feature stripes or margins of cream, pink, red, yellow, or burgundy cutting through deep green foliage. Depending on the specific variety, they can serve as excellent, low-maintenance house plants or dramatic outdoor landscape accents.

Core Plant Care Requirements

To keep the variegated colors vibrant and prevent them from reverting or fading, follow these care guidelines:

LIGHT ☀️  Bright, indirect sunlight (Filtered)

WATER 💧 Moderate; allow top 3-5 cm to dry out

HUMIDITY 💨 Moderate to high (Prefers misting)

TOXICITY 🐾 Toxic to cats and dogs if chewed

Light Requirements: Bright, filtered light is essential. While standard green varieties handle direct sunlight, variegated cordylines require light shade or dapples. Intense midday sun can burn or fade their bright patterns.

Watering Routine: Water steadily but with control. Thoroughly soak the soil once a week during the growing season, letting the top few centimeters dry out completely before watering again. Avoid waterlogging to protect the roots from rotting.

Environment & Climate: These plants thrive in temperatures between 18°C and 27°C. Keep indoor specimens away from cold AC drafts, and occasionally mist the leaves to mimic their native tropical rainforest humidity.
