YoYo Loach (Botia almorhae) 5-6cm

The YoYo Loach (Botia almorhae), also called the Pakistani Loach or Almora Loach, is a highly active, energetic, and colorful freshwater bottom-dweller. They are famous for the unique dark patterns on their silver-gold bodies that often look like the letters "Y-O-Y-O" when they are young. Aquarists love them because they are excellent at hunting and eating pest snails in planted fish tanks.

Tank Setup & Water Parameters

YoYo Loaches need a clean tank with plenty of floor space to swim and explore.

Substrate: Use fine sand. Rough gravel can hurt their sensitive mouth whiskers (barbels).

Hiding Spots: Provide caves, smooth rocks, and driftwoods. They love squeezing into tight spots together to sleep.

Temperature: Keep it warm at 75°F to 86°F (24°C to 30°C). Cold water makes them weak, lazy, and prone to diseases.

pH Level: Maintain a steady range between 6.5 and 7.5.

Water Quality: They need clean, well-oxygenated water. Perform regular partial water changes every week.
