Amano Shrimp (Caridina multidentata) are legendary freshwater aquarium inhabitants prized as the ultimate algae-eating cleanup crew. Originally introduced to the hobby by aquascaping pioneer Takashi Amano, these translucent invertebrates are peaceful, energetic, and highly effective at managing tank detritus.

Appearance & IdentificationSize: They reach a maximum length of 4 to 5 cm (1.5 to 2 inches).

Body: Transparent or light grey-blue bodies featuring a solid stripe down the back.

Genders: Females are larger with dashed body lines; males feature neat rows of dots.
