Aquatic Lucky Clover Plants Seed 20ml
Aquatic lucky plant seeds (commonly sold as "Lucky Grass" or "Lucky Clover") are fast-growing aquarium seeds used to create a vibrant green carpet at the bottom of fish tanks. While true "Lucky Bamboo" grows from stalks and cuttings rather than seeds, these specialized aquatic seeds sprout within 5 to 7 days to form a lush, oxygen-producing underwater lawn.
Step-by-Step Planting Procedures
You can grow these seeds using two different methods depending on whether your fish tank is currently dry or filled with water.
Method 1: The Dry Start Method (Recommended for Best Coverage)
Prepare Substrate: Place a 2–3 cm layer of nutrient-rich aquarium soil or fine sand at the bottom of an empty tank.
Moisten Soil: Gently mist the substrate with dechlorinated water until it is fully damp but not flooded.
Scatter Seeds: Spread the lucky seeds evenly across the damp soil surface. Do not bury or cover them with mud.
Seal for Humidity: Cover the top of the tank with plastic wrap or a transparent lid to lock in high moisture levels.
Add Light and Warmth: Keep your aquarium lights running for 8 to 12 hours a day. Maintain a steady temperature between 25°C and 30°C using a room heater or heat lamp.
Flood the Tank: Once the green sprouts grow to about 1 cm tall (usually 5–7 days), slowly and gently fill the tank with water so you do not uproot the new carpet.
Method 2: Planting in an Already Filled TankSpread Evenly: Drop the seeds evenly over your aquarium substrate.
Add a Thin Cover: Gently scatter a very thin layer of substrate mud over the seeds to prevent them from floating away.
Control Temperature: Turn on your aquarium heating rod to hold the water temperature between 25°C and 28°C.
Manage Filtration: Keep your aquarium filter off or at a very low setting for the first few days so the water current does not sweep the seeds away. Sprouts will typically emerge underwater within 7 to 11 days.
Essential Growth Requirements
Lighting: Moderate to high aquarium LED lighting is necessary to keep the carpet low and dense.CO2: While not strictly required for germination, a CO2 system helps the mature carpet stay compact and vivid over time.
Trimming: Trim the tops regularly once established to encourage horizontal spreading and prevent the lower layers from rotting.
