Black chocolate shrimp (often called chocolate shrimp or Black Rose shrimp) are a popular dark-brown to deep-black freshwater morph of Neocaridina davidi. Growing to about 1.2 inches, these hardy, peaceful scavengers thrive in planted aquariums with stable parameters, making them ideal for beginners.

Color: Ranges from deep caramel and rich milk-chocolate brown to solid, velvety jet black (the darkest grade is often sold as Black Rose or Painted Black Shrimp)

Size: 1 to 1.5 inches (2.5 to 3.8 cm)

Lifespan: 1 to 2 years

Temperament: Peaceful and non-aggressive
