A red tri-color koi fish is a prized variety of ornamental carp known in Japanese as Gosanke. These fish feature a beautiful blend of three distinct colors: red (hi), white (shiroji), and black (sumi).

Taisho Sanke (Sanke)Sanke koi have a solid white base. The red and black markings sit on top of this white background like paint splatters.
